BOOM!
The fire spreads across The hearts of the ones who haven't seen But they’ve heard BOOM! The smoke constricts The minds of the ones who breathe in With no exhale BOOM! It wasn't me BOOM! It wasn't me BOOM! It wasn't me Boom. Yet you still believe That what I believe Is in killing sprees And bombing people And to violently Push forth my evils And that I can't see The pain I bring To the not guilty For ‘affiliating’ with Islamist extremists And for believing in What I believe in Yet you can't see It wasn't me It wasn't me It wasn't me I was actually less than three When I had to face the TV With biased rumors on the screen Telling me who I was to be Yet here I am, standing With my guts dropped to my knees Wondering whether my next words will kill me Even though I know It wasn’t me It wasn’t me It wasn’t me I just want the lies to stop There’s nothing to gain Except for my pain But I don't know why I strain Like I’m shackled in chains They think I’m Islamically insane While I try to board an airplane They crane their necks to stare Like I’m a stain On a plain White. Shirt. I feel so ashamed But who am I to complain! I’m so inhumane Haven’t you heard? My father’s Bin Laden My mother? Sadam Hussein! Ha! Do you have nothing left in your brain or did I blow that up too? I mean, I have better things to do than to argue about these political campaigns Like I don’t know, have a social life all while maintaining a 4.2 GPA God, the blood is boiling through my veins Oh! There it goes again someone went and bombed a train Hey, I see you Don’t look my way It was loud and clear I heard it too It went like BOOM! It wasn't me BOOM! It wasn't me BOOM! It wasn't me Boom. -Hawa Rahman
